We have compiled several questions that can be used while thinking about your own UEQ profile or discussing someone’s profile with them.

Questions for Part 1 - Goals

  • What is your understanding of Emotional Intelligence/ EQ?

  • How/ why do you think EI/ EQ might impact your outcomes?

  • Are there any particular dilemmas you’re currently facing?

  • Which of these outcomes (Effectiveness, Quality of Life, Relationships, Wellbeing) is that linked to?

  • What would you ultimately like to achieve?

  • As you read this, what do you think and feel about what it’s telling you?

  • How do you feel reading this feedback about how things are going for you now?

  • Any surprises?

  • How would you define success in these area of your life, Effectiveness, Quality of Life, Relationships, Wellbeing?

  • What does success in each/ selected “outcome/s” look like, feel like for you?

  • What would that future feel like, look like?

  • Do you have anything that you’re working towards?

  • What’s holding you back?

  • Let’s put ourselves into the future: we meet up for a celebratory coffee in 6 or 12 months. What’s changed, which of these outcomes have improved and how?

  • On a scale of 1-10, how important is this/ each of these goals for you?

  • How would you know you were achieving your goal/s?

  • Thinking about how you define success for yourself, does any of this resonate with you?

  • Thinking about the future, what are some things about your personal growth that come to mind right now?

  • What do you want to work on/ develop?


Questions for Part 2 - Leveraging EQ process

  • Does the profile reflect you?

  • What do you agree with in your profile?

  • Is there anything you disagree with?

  • After reading the feedback in this section:

  • Is there a particular area you want to focus on?

  • What part of those comments ring true to you? How does that show itself in your life?

  • In what areas of your life could you imagine you are on autopilot?

  • Could you leverage your EQ to be more intentional?

  • Why do you think you sometimes react/ behave on autopilot?”

  • What might be the implications of acting on autopilot?

  • What are some things you think might help you to shift out of autopilot?

  • Does your profile resonate with you?

  • How do you see your profile showing up in your everyday interactions (do you have some specific examples — how do these relate to your goals)?

  • Looking at your profile, how do you think your current profile can help you to achieve your goal?

  • How can you use your strong areas to help you to address other areas?

  • What would the benefits/ impact be of having a more balanced K,C,G?

  • What are your biggest challenges in achieving your goals?

  • How can these areas (Know Yourself, Choose Yourself, Give Yourself) help you with your goals?


Questions for Part 3 - Action Planning

  • Which of these action steps do you see as most interesting for you?

  • Which of these action steps grabs your attention?

  • Anything else here that is of interest to you?

  • Where would you start taking action?

  • What is one thing you can do differently from now? How do you think this will help you?

  • What would help you make a commitment to one of these action steps?

  • Using these tips as a guide, what are some specific things you can do under each K,C,G to unlock/ strengthen your EQ and use it to achieve your goals?

  • Pick 1 that you can commit to putting into action now.

  • What are some experiments you could try?

  • On a scale of 1-10, how committed are you to putting these ideas into action?

  • How are you going to keep yourself on track and hold yourself accountable?

  • What challenges do you foresee in taking action? What might you do to overcome these?

  • Which are easy action steps for you?

  • Is there anything we have discussed that will  help you carry out any of your action steps? In what way?

  • What do you see as difficult action steps?

  • What are the challenges of your action steps?

  • How would you overcome these challenges?

  • Do any of these action steps help you achieve the goals that you set out originally? In what way?

  • Do any of these action steps hinder the achievement of the goals that you set out originally? In what way?

  • Are you ready to experiment with one of these?
