LVS Administration

Leadership Vital Signs administration is a simple process:

  • Certified user (you) logs into Six Seconds’ Tools Intranet and create a project

  • You share the link with participants (people getting the feedback)

  • Raters give the participant feedback, and the participant also gives self-feedback

  • You check in on the progress

  • Once the project closes, reports are immediately available online

More details are below. First, here’s a short video walk-through of setting up an LVS

Roles

For LVS

  • Certified refers to you, the certified user administering the assessment

  • Participants refers to the people receiving feedback (and self-feedback)

  • Raters are the people providing feedback

Project Setup

  1. When you, a certified user, set up your LVS you log into the tool intranet to create a project. In each project, you define several parameters – it’s helpful to have a plan in advance of how you want these settings

Project Type: Full 360 (feedback from participant compared to raters) or self-only (participant view only)

Project Name: For your own reference

Title: Visible to others

Last day: When will you close the feedback process?

Emails from: Normally no changes to this.

Reminders: If you want the system to remind people who’ve not yet completed

Language: This defines the email language, and the language visible when someone first comes to the questionnaire. On the questionnaire, a participant or rater can select any of the LVS languages.

2. You’ll define who does what:

Who will enter raters – the participants, the certified, a third party (e.g. HR manager), or a combination. Additional information is here

Who will view the reports (usually “me” the certified)

“Someone else” is typically another certified working with you, or an HR Manager for your client.

3. Customize the emails to the participants and raters. Per your settings, the system sends emails with invitations.

4. Add Participants to receive feedback; enter name, email, and gender (for pronouns).

Adding Raters to Give Feedback

If you set the project to do so, the system will send emails to participants and/or “someone else” with a link to add “raters.” Instructions are here

LVS Survey

The system sends invitations to each rater – and each participant. Each rater and participant completes a brief online questionnaire. You can see the questions in a sample report.

About the Questionnaire

Time: Approximately 10-15 minutes
Scope: 34 statements + 4 open questions
Sample items:

  1. She translates strategic goals into practical action steps

  2. She delegates effectively

  3. She convincingly explains the reasons behind change

  4. She helps me utilize my strengths

Note: In addition to the open questions, respondents may provide evidence / comments on every item. This enriches the quality and value of the quantitative feedback.

Managing Your LVS Project

To increase response rate, the certified may enter the system at any time to:
• Check for bounced emails, correct and resend
• Identify individuals who have and have not completed the questionnaire
• Manually copy the link for any participant or rater and paste into a conventional email as a reminder. We recommend you complete these steps at least once per week during the administration process.

Upon completion, the certified (or participant or 3rd party, defined in Step 1) downloads the report. Reports may be re-downloaded without charge.

The report is delivered with a 1:1 debrief by a certified LVS certified. Please see instructions here.
