When someone takes SEI, the system tests for reliability and for a new email – if either are false, reports are not sent even if the project is set to send reports to the test taker.

SEI Assessors can over-ride these blocks if you want. In the Project, under Questionnaire Settings, you will see the two checkboxes:

Block unreliable assessments

Block duplicate assessments

The Reliability Block

...

Even you have selected, "send report to test taker," the system will not send a report if "Overall Reliability" is Red (ie, "possibly unreliable"). This is caused by inconsistent responses, too quick a time taking SEI, or other tests explained in the Technical Manual.

If you want reports to be emailed anyway, you can turn off this blocker by un-checking the box. Then, reports will be emailed even if the indicators are in the red range.

Why turn off the Reliability Block? For example, if your project will send 500 BBPs for a conference presentation – it would be a pain to manually track down each error... and it's not a major issue if a few are inconsistent.

The Duplicate Email Block

If someone takes SEI using the same email address in a short time period (around 48 hours), the system will tell them: Your address was recently used to take the SEI. Do you want to delete and replace your previous assessment?

This is to prevent someone from accidentally taking the SEI multiple times.

If do not want this duplicate-email bloc, you can turn off this function by un-checking the box.

Info

Why turn off the Duplicate Email Block? For example, if your project will have multiple people who are going to use a shared email address (such as a staff all using the manager's email, or a classroom all using the teacher's email address)
